The Parkers are an exciting collective that features the talents of:

Thom Golub on Bass
Kevin Parkinson on Drums
Karen Porkka on Soprano and Tenor Sax and Vocals
Bob Tildesley on Trumpet

The Parkers thrive on inspiration from many different genres and musicians; most significantly, though, is our namesake, William Parker - http://www.williamparker.net/home.html - and his modern quartet. We have performed a fair amount of this material, some of which you will hear on the new CD.

Inspiration mainly comes from within the group, however. Witness the unspoken freedom to play, experiment, reach and express woven into original written and spontaneous composition, sweet melodies, groovy African inspired bass lines, hornificent harmonies and thought-provoking/heart-stirring lyrics.
